Built by one person who needed a team.
This is the story of why DeployLabs exists — and why it works.
Chris Egwuogu, Founder
Chris Egwuogu is the founder of DeployLabs and the architect behind every autonomous AI business engine the company deploys. Based in Toronto, Chris builds coordinated multi-agent AI systems that run revenue, marketing, operations, and growth for Canadian SMBs — 24/7. He is also the founder of Omilia Inc., the parent company behind DeployLabs, Omilia Visuals, and ProSequence.io.
I was running three businesses simultaneously — a photography studio, an AI consulting practice, a career advisory SaaS, and a digital products portfolio. Every one of them needed content production, SEO, lead generation, client follow-up, social media, competitive research, and strategic planning. The work that actually grows a business was perpetually queued behind the work that merely keeps one running.
A market research analyst, an SEO specialist, a content writer, a lead gen specialist, a web developer, a graphic designer, and an operations coordinator — producing what these roles deliver in Toronto costs $429,000 a year. The coordinated agent system produces the same volume of output at less than $1,000 a month in operating costs.
So I engineered an autonomous system that runs all four.
Not a chatbot. Not a single automation. A coordinated team of AI agents — each with a defined role, specific tools, and strict guardrails — working together as an engine for my businesses. One agent handles client intake. Another produces content. Another manages scheduling and follow-ups. They pass work between each other, surface opportunities, and report back.
Within four months: eight agents running across nine projects. 100+ professional deliverables in 30 days. Work spanning 7 specialist domains that would cost $429,000/year to staff in Toronto. Operating cost: less than $1,000/month. Operations that used to take me hours now happen while I sleep.
I'm the proof of concept. What I built for myself, I now build for businesses ready to scale.
Three principles behind every system we build.
Autonomy, not automation
Automation handles a task. Autonomy runs a department. We don't build single-purpose bots — we build coordinated AI teams that own entire workflows end-to-end. The difference is whether you're still in the loop for every decision or free to focus on what only you can do.
Ownership, not lock-in
Your data stays yours. Your system stays yours. We build it, hand it over, and you own everything it produces. No proprietary platforms, no recurring dependencies, no mystery algorithms you can't inspect or move.
Guardrails, not black boxes
Every agent has defined permissions, approval workflows for high-stakes actions, and a full audit trail. You can see what it did, why it did it, and shut it down instantly if you need to. Transparency isn't optional.
Toronto-based. Hands-on. No shortcuts.
Every system we deploy is tested against real scenarios before it touches your business. We don't hand you a template and wish you luck — we learn your operations, build agents around your specific workflows, and stay involved until the system is running reliably.
After launch, we optimize. Agent performance gets reviewed, workflows get refined, and new capabilities get added as your business evolves. This isn't set-and-forget. It's a system designed to grow with you.
